Capri Bland

Capri Bland is the founder of Moms Who Advocate, a community-driven organization dedicated to empowering mothers through advocacy, education, and support. Inspired by her own journey navigating complex systems as a young mother of a child with autism, Capri created a space where women can feel heard, supported, and equipped with the tools needed to advocate for themselves and their children. Her work is rooted in compassion, lived experience, and a deep commitment to ensuring no mother has to navigate life’s challenges alone.

Shelia Roberson

Sheila Roberson was born in Virginia Beach, VA. She enlisted in to the United States Navy immediately after graduating from Booker T. Washington High School in September 2010. She has a daughter, Sky, who is 11 years old and in the 6th grade. Her passion to help families of those with Autism, not long after her daughter was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. While navigating challenges with her daughter’s diagnosis, she realized that while there were resources to help, they were not always known causing them not to be utilized. Now she commits her time and efforts to Autism Awareness and supporting families of those with Autism. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in health information management with desires to become a Healthcare Administration Officer.

Ashley Shines is a Norfolk Native and Entrepreneur with a background in Education. Autism Awareness is important to our Secretary because her son was diagnosed at the age of 2 and has been in therapy since diagnosis. Ashley is an advocate as well as a homeschool educator.

Marcus J. Jordan is a strategic operations executive with over a decade of leadership experience driving growth, efficiency, and organizational transformation across nonprofit and multi-unit business environments. Born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, he brings a deep commitment to community impact alongside a strong track record of managing multimillion-dollar operations and leading high-performing teams.

Marcus currently serves as Senior Director of Amenities for the Virginia Zoological Society, where he oversees the majority of the organization’s operating budget and leads initiatives that enhance revenue and operational performance. Throughout his career, he has consistently delivered measurable results, including increasing profitability, improving employee retention, and optimizing large-scale operations.

He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and is known for his ability to align strategic vision with execution, build strong organizational cultures, and drive sustainable business success.
